About us

Who we are

Living Well Research Lab is part of Living Well Partners Ltd, based in Cockermouth. We help people understand research and use it well — whether they are writing their first essay, teaching a class or making decisions at work.

What we do

We run research skills training for students, educators and employers. We also publish free how-to guides for students and provide the Research Lab, an online workspace for planning, running, analysing and reporting studies.

Why train with us

  • Plain English, practical skills

We explain research ideas clearly and show how to use them straight away — in an essay, a project or a workplace report.

  • Built on the same methods as our tools

Our courses use the approaches behind our free student guides and the Research Lab, such as PEER for critical writing, so learning carries straight into practice.

  • Rigour and honesty

We teach people to weigh evidence fairly, report findings truthfully and respect the people who take part in research.

  • Flexible delivery

Video courses for students; in-class or video-link sessions for educators and employers, arranged around your timetable.

  • Access through your organisation

Courses are arranged for your institution or workplace as part of its organisational licence — contact us to discuss what you need.
